Prizes will be awarded for the following:

 

Entire Classes

1st - Trophy - Ribbon - $120

2nd - Ribbon - $100

3rd - Ribbon - $80

Best Bitch - Trophy - Sash - $150

Best Dog - Trophy - Sash - $150

Champion Greyhound - Trophy - Rug - Sash - $200

 

Neutered Classes

1st - Trophy - Ribbon - $120

2nd - Trophy - Ribbon - $100

3rd - Trophy - Ribbon - $80

Champion Neutered - Trophy Rug - Sash - $150

 

Appearance money of $60 will be paid by Racing Queensland

 

Brace

1st - Trophy - Ribbon - $100

2nd - Ribbon - $70

3rd - Ribbon - $30

 

Child Handler

1st - Trophy - Ribbon - $50

2nd - Ribbon - $30

3rd - Ribbon - $20

JUDGING

 

In 2023 all  judging will be done at the Rosewood Showgrounds.  Here the judge will announce the class placings, 1st, 2nd & 3rd, all the Dog classes going first and then Bitches classes. Then the Brace will be judged. 

 

All class winners will be required at the in the assembly area to compete for Best Dog & Best Bitch and go on to complete for Best in Show. 

 

Classes for the Dogs

Class 1 - Puppy Dog (6 months -12 months)

Class 2 - Pre-Racer Dogs (Over 12 months - 2 years)

Class 3 - Race Dogs (Over 2 years - 4 years)

Class 4 - Veterans Dogs (Over 4 years)

Class 5 - Neutered Dogs (any age)

 

Classes for the Bitches

Class 1a - Puppy Bitch (6 months -12 months)

Class 2a - Pre-Racer Bitches (Over 12 months - 2 years)

Class 3a - Race Bitches (Over 2 years - 4 years)

Class 4a - Veterans Bitches (Over 4 years)

Class 5a - Neutered Bitches (any age)

 

Brace and Child handler classes are FREE to enter.  Greyhounds that are already entered in other classes are only considered for entry in the Brace and Child Handler.

Please indicate on the entry form if you will be in these 2 classes.

 

Brace

Please complete the Entry Form in your Catalogue for inclusion in this event. Cash prizes will also be paid for winners of this event.

 

Entry is FREE for all Braces, providing that the 2 greyhounds in the Brace are already entered in the Sweepstakes classes.  Please indicate on the Entry Form if you might have a Brace Entry.

 

Child Handler

Please complete the Entry Form in your Catalogue for inclusion in this event. Cash prizes will be paid for winners of this event on the day.

 

Children between 12 - 18 years old and who are confident in controlling the greyhound are eligible - entry is FREE. Remember circumstances are different at the show and the dogs will have to deal with noise, crowds and open spaces, so please judge the dogs suitability for this class and the ability of the child.

 

Other Information

Our Entry Form will also require information that will be checked against Racing Authorities records.  This information will be in the form of a Trainers Licence Number or an Owners Registration Number (if Known).

 

SENDING ENTRY FORMS

 

Complete entry forms should be either emailed to:

Arrival times of exhibits on the day of the show:

 

All dogs to be checked in between by 9.30am on Saturday 1st July 2023

Departure times of exhibits: All dogs must remain on exhibition until after judging of the Greyhound Sweepstakes judging is finished.

 

Judging commences 10am.

Judge: Mrs Patrice Johansen

 

Finishing time is approximately 1pm.

Your prize money will be deposited into you nominated bank and awards (ribbons, trophies etc. will be available for collection on the day.
